How does building a sidewalk and expanding a playground stimulate the economy? Sure it might generate a couple jobs till construction is completed but then what?
I’m sorry steph, but my link is directly from the US Senate, what exactly would you like? Little early to have started on the kool aid isn’t it?

How dare you list earmarks after the President promised to end them? You’re just being a hater (sarcasm mode off).

Lets break this down….
1.7m in pig odor research. Don’t know about you, but pigs stink. Bad. And the smell can linger for miles literally, plus it causes slight pollution. Anyway, the research pays people. And we get a cleaner environment because of it. People get paid, people go consume, stimulates the economy.
Common Sense.
2m for the promotion of astronomy in Hawaii. Well not sure how things are going there, but maybe just maybe Hawaii is a state that is lacking in astronomy classes for high school or universities. This would bring in more teachers. People get paid, people consume, stimulates the economy.
Common Sense.
6.6m in termite research for New Orleans. Sounds to me New Orleans has a bad termite problem. 6.6m in research would require labor, you don’t just dump money somewhere and nothing happens. So yeah. People get paid, people consume. Stimulates the economy. And New Orleans battles terminate infestations more effectively.
Common Sense.
Everything you listed, requires labor. Labor = PEOPLE have a JOB and they get PAID. When you get PAID you pay BILLS, you pay TAXES, you CONSUME. STIMULATES ECONOMY.
Get it? GET IT?

I wonder what the rules are for Mormon cricket, and why it needs to be controlled by the government. Why not just let them play the game?

It doesn’t – plain and simple – McCain had some very good ideas even for this stimulus.
We will be paying for this crap for decades

Maybe the cricket & P’s mouse are getting together to check out the stars so they can help make honey together & go down the long sidewalk to visit the beavers.
BTW…..I live in North Carolina & yes the beavers are a problem in a lot of places but even we think this is really obnoxious pork.
